These are interesting questions. Think about this question:

Which Divorce Process is best for me and my spouse?

Choose Your Divorce Process First - Your Divorce Attorney Second

Raleigh Divorce Attorney for Collaborative Divorce, Mediation, ConsultingThe path to divorce can seem like a confusing and uncharted course. Attorneys are considered to be the guides along this course. What few people realize, however, is that when they hire an attorney, they are typically signing on for a particular divorce process. There are several processes for getting a divorce, and attorneys often choose the one with which they are most familiar. The process that suits the attorney, however, may or may not be the process that a couple going through divorce would choose if given the option.

This web site provides descriptions of the divorce processes available to families in North Carolina. Separating Together's Self-Assessment is a simple way to identify which of these divorce processes may make the best sense for any particular couple.

At Separating Together, the member attorneys recommend that couples learn about a spectrum of divorce processes that are less intrusive and less adversarial than the typical divorce process. Each of the Separating Together member attorneys is dedicated to supporting and working with divorcing clients to develop legally binding strategies for co-parenting and financial security in a collaborative, cooperative, and non-adversarial process. To help divorcing couples understand which process may be best for them, the member attorneys each offer personal 30 minute Orientation meetings for a cost of $75.00. Couples and individuals can then make knowledgeable decisions about hiring attorneys whose practice and temperament are appropriate for the divorce process they select.
